Proof is required to be shown by concessions on each visit.
A concession is someone with a valid student card,
unemployed or over 60 years old. Same house discounts
are available to regular users and annual members.
Equipment Hire
£2.50 per harness, we have sit harnesses and full body
harnesses suitable for children
£2.50 pair of climbing shoes (climbing shoes must be
worn for bouldering)
£1.00 per belay with screwgate.
You may also borrow a gate for use with sandbags where there
is a weight difference between the climber and belayer.
For safety reasons we are unable to hire out quickdraws or
ropes. All of our leading lines have in-situ quickdraws
except for lines 1 & 2 which are suitable for learning
to lead climb.
Guest Entry
A registered adult member may sign in up to 2 guests who
are under 18 or novices. For safety reasons guests may only
belay if the registered member also holds the dead rope
coming out of the belay device. Boulder Only members and
Junior Assessed members MAY NOT sign in guests.
To bring in more than 2 people you need to hold the CWA or
SPA qualification, valid first aid and insurance.
Alternatively book an instructed
session.
Under 18's have 3 climbing options:
1) Climb as part of an instructed session
2) Climb as a guest of a registered Adult member.
3) Those age 14 to 17 inclusive may pass a
Junior Assessment to climb unsupervised. To do the
assessment
you must be capable of leading and lead
belaying. If you are still working towards these
skills we recommend
joining our weekend club. A Junior Assessed
member MAY NOT sign in guests. For full details
